Before sportswear and 'normal, everyday fashion' were two separate departments/sections. However, within this last season we have seen an merging of these two sections of the fashion industry. A more sporty. modern and youthful look has made a comeback this year and worked its way back into current trends. This bright, sporty and abstract look was first a trend in 1920's-1960's with different variations of it but having a common thread of bright and sporty looks with strong primary colours being a strong theme. Personally I love this trend a lot, to me it looks like such an effortless fashion statement. The sporty pieces are easy to wear but are so on trend and such a statement at the moment. We live in a very postmodern world so of course our fashion needs to match it with bold colours and lines to symbolise our ever changing, futuristic society.

We had a lecture about the Fashion Calendar in which we were talking about shows, fashion weeks and fashion capitals. Within this they showed us the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 Show which toke place in the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) in Brazil. The modern architecture in this building complemented the clothes and show perfectly emphasising the structure and modern connotations of the clothes. The primary colours used really symbolise the modern and youthful look but doing it in a sophisticated and expensive way to create the desire for these clothes. They have very much taken inspiration from the 1960's fashion trend go black and white with a strong primary colour to communicate a girly and youthful ideal. Louis Vuitton has perfected this look and put an even more modern and original spin on this and really led the way from smaller brands to do the same. They as a brand fit this trend perfectly with their signature bold logo being very similar style to these clothes. They toke the this simple trend and made it very original and unique to what most brands are doing. The multiple lines and colours make this collection stand out compared to high street as brands like Missgudied and PrettyLitteThing have interrupted it in a simpler way for cost and accessibility for consumers.
